Join ULI San Antonio for a virtual area premiere of Why We Cycle, a Dutch documentary exploring the hidden effects of cycling on our cities and ourselves.

There are more bicycles than people in the Netherlands! (Think about that for a second!) To the Dutch, cycling is as normal as breathing. They don’t think about it, they just do it. Perhaps the fact that they don’t think about it, is the key to the bicycle’s success in the Netherlands. The 56-minute documentary film Why We Cycle, takes you on a ride with ordinary cyclists and specialists whose conversations uncover some obvious, but even more hidden effects of cycling on people, on societies, and on the organization of cities. It is a film of hope for sustainable societies.

Why We Cycle was directed by Gertjan Hulster & Arne Gielen and produced by Jeroen Dirks.
