Join ULI San Antonio for our next Leadership Luncheon on September 12, 2023 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at The Tobin Center. The program theme will be on Adaptive Reuse, featuring speakers Travis Albrecht, Principal and Design Director with Gensler and Steve Radom, Founder and Managing Principal of Radom Capital along with moderator Clint Wynn of SurePoint Development.

From 1970’s warehouses converted to trendy retail, restaurant and creative office space to outdated offices converted to luxury lofts, developers are getting more creative than ever with repurposing more aging real estate to meet their customers’ evolving demands . ULI San Antonio invites its members and guests to hear a great conversation about the unique opportunities and challenges in transforming buildings from one purpose to another.

Our experienced speakers will talk about some of the following questions they confront everyday:
    · How do you decide to convert a building from one type to another?
    · How are capital sources looking at adaptive reuse deals in 2023 and beyond?
    · How should we compare development and operating costs of adaptive reuse vs new construction?
    · What unique challenges do these conversions face from a building code and permitting perspective?
    · What consideration is given to impact to surrounding neighborhoods?
    · What are environmental impacts of repurposing old buildings?
    · What kinds of surprises are uncovered during construction?
