Join ULI San Antonio Young Leaders for a self-guided kayak ride along the world-famous San Antonio River Walk as it winds through Downtown San Antonio! This is a wonderful easy 3.25 mile flat-water kayak trip which is great for beginner kayakers. Being able to kayak on this section of the San Antonio Riverwalk is a VERY RARE experience. Access to this section of the San Antonio River is only available though the end of 2021.
·Kayaking is allowed on the river from 8am-11:15am
·Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled rental so you can sign waivers and be fitted for your life
jacket!!!
·No beer or alcohol are allowed while kayaking. If you chose to break this rule the SA Police, in their motorboats,
will arrest you for a BWI (Boating while intoxicated) and its as expensive and has the same consequences as a DWI!
·City maintenance barges may be present on the river. If they are you MUST move to the side of the river (against the concrete walls of the river) and allow the barge to pass. This is for your safety… kayaks are hard to see and the barges are NOT easily maneuvered. So the right-of-way always goes to the barges.
·You must wear a lifejacket (PFD) at all times and it must be securely buckled the entire time you are in the kayak. The use of a life Mission Kayak lifejacket (PFD) is included in the rental price. If you have your own coastguard approved lifejacket (PFD) feel free to bring it and use it. The river police will ticket you and escort you back to the dock if you do not have your lifejacket (PFD) on and buckled. Tickets are expensive!!
