    EVs are here and are unquestionably the future of transportation. The forthcoming adoption by consumers and organizations will have vast implications for real estate and development. Most product types must now consider investments in EV charging stations as a necessity and strategic amenity, PLUS face the challenge of figuring out how to smartly expand charging facilities over time. Of course, there is also the implications for electrical requirements, as well as the utility infrastructure to support EV electrical demands. Anyone involved in real estate and development will find this is topic ripe for discussion.

    Malcolm McVay
    Principal of eMobility and Cleantech / Greenshift
    VP Operations / Merge Electric Fleet Solutions

    Malcolm McVay is Principal of eMobility and Cleantech at Greenshift, a consultancy working at the convergence of transportation, clean energy and infrastructure, and serves as VP of Operations at Merge EFS, a private equity-backed company focused on fleet vehicle electrification. At Greenshift, Malcolm works with companies on corporate and product strategy, program management, and infrastructure deployment in the electric vehicle and cleantech space.
     
    Prior to founding Greenshift in 2015, Malcolm led an electric vehicle charging business line focused on the commercial office and multi-family residential markets for EVgo, America's largest public EV fast charging network.  Beginning in 2008, Malcolm managed first-to-market EV technology deployments to utility and vehicle OEM customers for electrification pioneer AeroVironment. Malcolm has also served in general management, business development, and operational roles in the commercial IoT, corporate investigations and nonprofit sectors. Malcolm holds a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from UCLA. A native Minnesotan, he is an avid hockey player and lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.

    Danny Zimmermann, PE

    Cleary Zimmermann

    Danny Zimmermann, PE is Principal and co-founder of Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, responsible for managing the firm’s business and financial affairs. Danny supervises strategic business development initiatives, marketing, accounting, legal matters, IT, and many of the firm's policies and procedures.
    As a Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager, Danny has provided design and executive oversight for a wide array of projects, including academic facilities, hospitals, surgery centers and clinics, clinical and research laboratories, retirement communities, public and private facilities. Danny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio, is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and LEED®BD+C.

    Danny is active in his local community and volunteers his time for numerous philanthropic organizations. He presently chairs the Texas A&M San Antonio Foundation board; serves as Vice Chair of the North SA Chamber Government Affairs Council and director for the Chamber; and immediate past-president and current board director of the Comal Education Foundation. Along with his wife, April, Danny is a certified Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) whereby he is a voice for abused children in court. He is a past-president and director for the UTSA Alumni Association Board and has served in several other community service capacities throughout his career.

    Drew Higgins

    Andrew Higgins is responsible for enhancing and introducing products & services to continue to meet our customers’ expectations.  He joined CPS Energy in June of 2019. Prior to joining CPS Energy, Drew most recently worked at General Motors in Detroit, where he was a senior executive in their Chief Data and Analytics Office that was responsible for product development. Drew also spent more than 10 years at USAA, where he was the Director of Integrated Products. Drew is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with a B.S. in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business.

    Trey is the principal consultant and founder of Momentum Advisory Services. He has a 30-year career both in public and private sectors with vast experience the areas of economic development, public-private partnerships, land entitlements, political strategy and communication, and utility matters. Trey serves as Co-Chair for the ULI San Antonio Energy Task Force and is 2021 Impact Committee Chair.

Our largest education effort of the year will be kicking off National Drive Electric Week, which is the world’s largest celebration of plug-in electric vehicles. EV drivers across the city along with automakers will be present to educate the public in an amazing effort to show the San Antonio community the fuel-saving and performance benefits of driving electric!
